Atiya Ahsan spoke at our meeting on May 6th about her Fine Art Gallery and the need for arts funding and awareness here in Mississauga.

April 29 - May 12: Sheridan College Applied Photography Graduation Show. Opening Thursday April 28, 5 - 9pm

May 13 - June 3: Peel Community Connections (www.peelcommunityconnections.com) and Growing Up XX's (www.growingupxx.com) Art Exhibit entitled "Validation of Voices". This exhibition  allows girls and young women from different ethnic and cultural backgrounds to express what it is like growing up female. This initiative will let girls experience the rite of passage by demystifying stereotypes and negative images by showcasing positive images of girls and young women from different backgrounds and cultures. Opening May 13, 2 -9pm.
