On a lovely Sunday, club members and guests gathered at Oppenheimer's Hawksnest  to celebrate 15 years of Service Above Self on St John.

ImageOnly one of the charter members, Miles Stair, was able to be with us. A delicious luncheon was prepared by Lori Dudkin's Creative Catering, and the leftover tequila and margarita mix from the Blues Blowout must have been a big hit because we killed three bottles of Cuervo Gold and 6 bottles of mix.  Beer, soft drinks, juice and water rounded out the busy bar.

ImageThe water was gentle and just the right temperature to cool down before and after. With parking at the beach, access to restrooms and wonderful food and drink ... what more could Rotarians want?  Well, more of our charter members to attend, although Charter Rotarian Patrick Pearson was excused since Marilyn had just had emergency surgery on Tuesday (she is fine but was not ready to hit the beach yet). Charter Rotarian Doug White must have gotten mislaid on his way, but other Whites filled in admirably with PDG Diana and Roger White joining in the festivities.

The grand finale was Lori's Chocolate Cake (special order for Dave Carlson).Image

So St John moves into its 16th year of service to St John with enthusiasm, and plans for ever more.
