Dear Mary Hamilton - Rotary Club of Providenciales,

On behalf of the Quito Valle Interoceánico Rotary Club and of the Fundación Valle Interoceánico, I would like to give you our most profound appreciation for sponsoring one of the Children of the Andes for the 2011-2012 school year.  The child that we have assigned to you this year is Kerly Yelitza Amagua Toalombo, born on the 19 of November, 2008. She lives in Machachi, south of Quito, where we have started our aid this year to those who need it most.

Kerly lives with her grandparents, uncles and mother in an adobe and brick house where she shares a room with her mother. The home, owned by her grandparents, has all basic services. Her father provides a very small child support pension every month for her expenses. Her mother works at a food factory and makes minimum wage. The family also raises animals and cultivates crops for their own consumption. Kerly does not present any illnesses at the moment, but will receive a medical check-up very soon.

On September 6th we started the school year. Since then, Kerly has attended in uniform and will remain at the Educational Center from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm. Her teacher is Katherine Hidrovo.
