Citizens' Climate Lobby

Citizens' Climate Lobby is a grassroots organization founded in 2007 with over 400 chapters in the United States including seven in Utah.  CCL is non-partisan, and works with members of Congress across the political spectrum to find common ground on climate change solutions.  This talk will focus on the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, which is a bill in Congress that would utilize a market-based approach to reduce carbon emissions by at least 40 percent over 12 years while providing for economic growth.

Tom Moyer is a mechanical engineer who works on military explosive ordinance disposal robots. He is the state coordinator for the Utah chapters of the Citizens' Climate Lobby and was closely involved with lobbying for HCR007, the Economic and Environmental Stewardship Resolution.

Lauren Barros owns LRBFamilyLaw, specializing in divorce, surrogacy, adoption, LGBTQ law, and complicated family law issues. She sits on the Third District Court Judicial Nominating Commission, and has received the Utah State Bar "Distinguished Family Law Practitioner" award. She is the Co-Leader of the Wasatch Back chapter of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby. Tom and Lauren live in the net-zero house they built in Park City.
