Teens hit the boards - scrabble boards that is -Thursday. Thanks to organisers Su Mander, Woody Foster and Ferlyn Heyne, with M.C. Kim Remizowski and the crew of Rotary volunteers and teachers, the Scrabble Scrum event was a roaring success.
Six teams from three schools: Cayman International School, St. Ignatius, and John Grey competed for the coveted trophy. CIS won, with St. Ignatius taking second.
There's still a lot of work to do to bring back safe shelter, water, medical assistance and food to 7020 communities affected by hurricane Matthew.

This Week's Speaker
PDG Jeremy Hurst
Jeremy was born and raised in Rochester in England in 1961 and attended University College London where he obtained a BSc Hons. degree in Land Studies. He relocated to the Cayman Islands on an 18-month contract in 1987, is married to Michelle and collectively they have four children – all boys.
He Joined the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman in 1988 and seven years later in 1995/6 became its youngest ever President. He went on to become Assistant Governor for the Cayman Islands from 2000 to 2003, has served in various capacities within the District including Chairman of two District Conferences in 2000 and 2007, was Rotary Foundation Future Vision Chair for District 7020 during 2010/12. He also chaired the Rotarians Emergency Disaster Initiative (REDI V) conference held in the Cayman Islands during 2011. Jeremy is a Level 2 Major Donor of The Rotary Foundation, a Level 2 Rotary Foundation Bequest Society Member and was District 7020 Governor during 2013/14.
His current roles include District Trainer and Honorary District Council Treasurer for District 7020. He is a current and incoming member of the Zone 34 Coordinator Team for both Membership and The Rotary Foundation, responsible for the Caribbean Districts and sits on the Rotary International Membership Committee whose job is to advise the RI board on all matters pertaining to membership and strengthening clubs.
When not enjoying Rotary, Jeremy owns and operates a group of companies offering property and relocation related services to private investors and corporations and works primarily the Cayman and Caribbean markets.

Two hundred and one Rotarians from District 7020 have registered for the International Rotary Convention in Atlanta.
Currently, the registration rate is $340. This rate is good until December 15. On December 16, the registration fee increases to $415.
