Rotary Sunrise has developed a list of tasks to be completed by newly inducted members as a way to help them get to know other members in the club and become familiar with Rotary protocols. Once all 7 required tasks have been completed the member will receive the club's Blue Badge replacing the Red Badge to symbolize the completion of all tasks.

We're Back!

The Sunrise club has always been composed of determined individuals. The pride we share in our club’s achievements and the energy we invest in fulfilling our service projects were in part what first attracted me to the club.
Well, once again we have pulled together to accomplish the improbable. At the 2014 District 7020 District Conference, the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise walled away with more awards than any other Cayman Rotary club!
Here’s the list of awards presented to our club by DG Jeremy Hurst:

New Member Bio - Rotarian Renzo Escalante
I was born in New Jersey. My Mother is from the Dominican Republic and my Father is from Peru. I moved to Peru when I was 3 years old and went to primary school in Lima. After living in Lima for 9 years, I moved to Tampa, Florida where I finished secondary schooling and also attended university there at the University of South Florida receiving a degree in Communication.
I began my sales career in 1998 selling computers and began working in telecommunications and advertising sales in 2000; during the last 14 years I have worked in TV, radio, print and internet sales. In November of 2004 I was offered a job in Miami by Global Directories and moved there in December of that year. In the spring of 2009 while still living in Miami I met my wife Sandra; she is from Colombia and works in the Hotel industry in Operations Management. In 2009 Global offered me to run their Aruba office and I moved there in August of the same year. Sandra and I got married in Aruba in the summer of 2011 while we lived there and were lucky to have 70 close family and friends fly in for the festivities!
A year ago, we moved to Grand Cayman as Global offered me a great opportunity here; Sandra is currently working at the Westin. In my spare time I enjoy watching sports, going to the beach and following politics. I play tennis and football mostly, and I currently play for a football team twice a week at Kings. Sandra and I enjoy travelling and try to visiting different countries or cities at least once a year.
I first thought about joining Rotary Sunrise after talking to Mark Macfee and David Reid as we work together. I am joining Rotary Sunrise as I have always been involved in different charities from time to time, but never actually joined a club to give back to the community in a more organized manner; I think Rotary will offer that organization and at the same time allow me to meet new people and network in Grand Cayman and beyond.

Topic: The Positive Impacts that Health City will have for the Community
Please join us on Wednesday, May 7 as we welcome Dr. Ravi Kishore Amancharla and Mr. Shomari Scott from Health City Cayman Islands to talk to our club about the positive impacts the HCCI will have on our community.
Dr. Ravi Kishore will be the Chief Interventional Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist at the Health City Cayman Islands.
Dr. Ravi earned his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery) at Bangalore Medical College, India, in 1983. He completed his M.D. in Internal Medicine at the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), India, in 1987. He also completed his Doctor of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology at GB Pant Hospital, New Delhi, India, in 1991. He then went on to complete a Commonwealth Scholarship in Cardiac Electrophysiology at St. George’s Hospital Medical School, London, in 1995.
Since than Dr. Ravi Kishore has worked in various Hospitals across southern India. He established the first dedicated electrophysiology unit in Hyderabad-Medicity Hospital in 1995 and was among the first in the country to introduce RF Ablation for cardiac arrhythmias and ICD therapy. Since 1997, he has teamed up with Dr. Devi Shetty and has been instrumental in establishing state of the art electrophysiology services across the group hospitals. He is among the top electrophysiologists in India, in terms of numbers, with a rich experience in simple and complex ablations and Device implants. He also manages the Groups specialty clinics (Heart failure, Device and Arrhythmia, and Resistant Hypertension).
Hurricane Season is Coming - Will You Be Prepared?

June 1 officially marks the start of hurricane season in Cayman. Like all families, we start to prepare and stock up on much needed supplies and essential should a hurricane hit the islands. Well, Rotary Sunrise wants to make sure all members are prepared but also to ensure we have updated records of our members and their plans during a hurricane should one hit.
We will be generating printed copies of your Clubrunner profiles for updating and using these printed copies to store during hurricane season for easy access and use in the event of no electricity. We are asking all members to access their profiles over the next week and update old information prior to us printing the paper copies.
Then during the month of May, we will ask each member to complete any missing information and answer a brief hurricane emergency questionnaire that will aid the club in knowing each member's plans in the event of an emergency.
More details will be shared once the printed copies are available.
