Our club is awaiting word from Rotary International for approval of matching grants with our donation of $4000 that pairs with the Philippine District for the Nanay Care Centre.
Other Donations:
$2,000 to Malawi for Children's Rehabilitation Centre
$1000 to South Africa for Baby HOme
$600 to Guaruma for ongoing support.
Community
We will be hosting the community in Swamp Park this month on Saturday March 25th Save the date.
Literacy
- Rotarians Pauline and Woody championed Buy a Kid a Book (no, not Feed Children Books)(though a steady diet of reading is a wonderful idea). Along with our Rotarian volunteers, we raised $3000 which will go toward class libraries in our public schools.
- We are presently considering working with Rotary Central to send students to debate camp. More information to follow in the coming weeks.

Earlyactors will help out at Swamp Park next week. They will be having a bake sale April 8th, and a car wash in May.
Men In Shoes
Are our guys from Rotary Sunrise men enough? If yes, Cayman Islands Crisis Center (CICC) would like to invite the male members of the Rotary to participate in their fundraising event: A Walk in Her Shoes (females too but only as a support system or an audience).
This event will take place on the 8th of March which is the International Women’s Day and the 14th anniversary of the CICC inception. A lot to celebrate! Participants could either walk individually or form a Rotary Sunrise team.

Last week Education Specialist Brad Wilson gave the club a lowdown on where and what our $50,000 grant will target. The Reading Recovery Program will help those students who struggle to get extra help. Trained teachers will run the program, which will take place at Prospect Primary.

Let's share Rotary with others!
Beginning Wednesday1st March 2017 and for each meeting, fellowship or community sunrise club event in March 2017 you are encouraged to bring a guest to share our Rotary fellowship/ experience!
If you Bring AGuest (B.A.G.) make sure you complete the entry form with your name, guest name, date and email and place it in the draw.
At the last meeting in March, one entry form will be drawn and both the Rotarian and the Guest on that winning form will win two (2) free breakfast each at a future Rotary Sunrise meeting at GTYC.
Guidelines for B.A.G draw:
Period of B.A.G: 1st March 2017 to 31st March 2017
One slip per guest visit. All Sunrise Rotarians with Guests are welcome to participate even if your Guest has visited multiple times in the past.
The entry form must be placed in the BAG before the end of the meeting/event that the Guest attended.
Guests attending committee meetings during the month of March not excluded however, community and fellowship events guests are eligible.
There is no cash valuefor the prize.
Have fun and know that you and your Guests are welcomed and appreciated!
So Bring A Guest (BAG) and get as many entry forms into the draw during March as you want!
Rotarian Franz from Austria found us after a lengthy search. He suggested a poster at the airport for future Rotarians to consider upon arrival. There are 160 clubs in his area of Austria.
