This year we have a group of about 20 – 30 eager Earlyactors at GTPS, grades 4-6. We are happy to see familiar faces from last year and plenty of new members as well. We held election speeches and elections in the past two meetings and are proudly introducing you to the new board who will lead the group for next 8 months.
From left to right in the picture we have president Kaci Ann Wilson, VP Jacob Kelly Johnson, Treasurer Reyah Steward and Secretary Aurora Whiteman.
Our new president is very well spoken and has a good sense of the values Earlyact and Rotary shall stand for as she demonstrated in her election speech. The other 3 board members are now seasoned Earlyactors so we are confident they will be a great support for her. We are looking forward to a great year full of achievements and will start with Pines Birthday Party on November 14th.
Earlyact is meeting every 2 weeks on Wednesdays at 1:15pm in music room of the GTPS. The meeting is usually around 40 minutes. Please come and support this great group. Next meeting is on Nov 11th and we will be making birthday cards for the two residents of Pines whose birthdays we will celebrate this month.
The Pines Retirement Home Annual November Birthday Luncheon will be held on Saturday, November 14.
The residents celebrating their birthday in November are:
09 November – Olive Miller
13 November – Jennie Fletcher
Volunteers are still needed and are asked to arrive by 11:45am for a 12:30pm start.
This year we will be catering to 34 residents and staff, so please sign up to help make this annual event a fun and festive one for our seniors!
Our EarlyActors was especially well received by the seniors last year, and we are working on having them be in attendance again this year to entertain and join in the singing and present birthday cards to the seniors. Contact PE Dawn to sign up.
We look forward to seeing you there to help make this day special for the seniors!
Enjoy photos below from our first mentoring social with our Rotaractors! Held at President Christine's home, the session is hoped to become a monthly series of "mentoring" evenings for Rotarians and Rotaractors. If you missed the first evening - you missed an evening of fun, fellowship and conversation about careers and life in general. All members are welcomed to attend and the next mentoring session will be announced soon!
Candy for breakfast? It must have been Halloween week! We heard from guest speaker Philip Rudge about the Syrian refugee crisis, presented NCVO with a check for the funds raised during the NCVO collection drive and enjoyed the fun halloween masks which made identifying Rotarians and Rotaractors a treat!
