Rotary works with partners in the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI), including the World Health Organization (WHO), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and the governments of the world to achieve this historic public health goal.

As part of the effort, Rotarians contribute their time and money to the cause, raising funds, advocating for government support, serving as volunteers to help immunize children, and raising awareness in their communities.

Rotary’s contributions to the global polio eradication effort now exceed $1.6 billion including matching funds from the Gates Foundation. Hundreds of thousands of volunteers have supported National Immunization Days. Since 1988, more than 2 billion children have received oral polio vaccine, and we’ve achieved a 99.9 percent reduction in polio cases. It may be considered the greatest humanitarian service the world has ever seen, and every Rotarian can take pride in the achievement.

During the 2018-19 Rotary year we were
a 100% giving club and every member gave
a donation to The Rotary Foundation.

Empower others during Community Economic Development Month

Rotary members all over the world work with communities to improve their economies. Every community has different needs and offers different opportunities to serve. During October, Community Economic Development Month, you can invest in your community’s future by starting an economic development project.

High-impact and sustainable projects begin with community assessments and include the active involvement and commitment of community members. Most community economic development needs fit one or more of these categories:
  • Youth unemployment
  • Obstacles to entrepreneurship
  • Barriers to agricultural opportunities
  • Lack of resources for addressing extreme poverty
Rotary’s Economic and Community Development Project Strategies guide can help you ask the right questions, identify needs, and make the greatest impact with the time and resources you have.

Update from Rotarian Steve Sokohl

I wanted to give everyone a short update.

To date, I have raised approximately US$8,850 (US$5,500 collected and US$3,350 pledged)  towards our goal thanks to your generous support and participation.

Please keep it coming!!!

As a reminder....

On January 1, 2020, I will be participating in the Polar Bear Plunge in East Hampton, New York to raise funds for our Rotary Club in the Cayman Islands (local and international projects).

In particular, we are raising funds to support local Cayman projects and to finish a medical clinic in Honduras (local population has very limited access to medical care and the clinic will have an enormous impact to a very rural area in Honduras).

Please contribute to this worthy cause!!!
