The Rotary Grace

O God and giver
of all good,

We thank thee for
our daily food.

May Rotary friends
and Rotary ways,

Help us to serve thee
all our days.
The 4-Way Test

Of the things we
think, say, or do:

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill
and better friendships?

Will it be beneficial
to all concerned?

TRF makes PHS easy!
Submitted by The Foundation Committee

You've heard a lot this month about how The Rotary Foundation (TRF) does good things in the world. All Sunrise Rotarians have been encouraged to donate US$100 to become a Sustaining Member and help our club reach its Annual Programs Fund (APF) goal of US$7500 in President Kim's year.

Unfortunately Sunrise isn't a 100% Sustaining Member club...despite the fact that it takes less than US$2 per week to keep the good works of Rotary funded and growing. In fact, our 72 members have jointly contributed less than US$2000 toward our goal of US$7500.

Happily, you can help by becoming a member of the Paul Harris Society (PHS). And now, Rotary International has made it easier than ever to donate quickly and painlessly through monthly automatic payments using Rotary Direct. Just go online to: www.rotary.org/give

When you're online, setting up your monthly payment plan, remember that if your bank uses a rate of .84 for a USD conversion, it only takes $70 per month in Cayman dollars to qualify as a Paul Harris Society member!

And by selecting Annual Fund - SHARE as your designated fund, you will be supporting grants and activities chosen by clubs right here in District 7020. The online donation amounts you make are automatically tracked by District 7020 to determine your annual giving level.

The District 7020 Paul Harris Society was established in 2005 to recognize anyone who personally contributes at least US$1,000.00 during each Rotary year. District 7020 handles all associated PHS recognition on our behalf for this program.

After your donation has been invested in the Annual Fund for three years, one-half of your original contribution will be returned to District 7020 as District Designated Funds (DDF) and one-half will be provided to The Rotary Foundation World Fund to support humanitarian programs and Group Study Exchange. It's the interest generated during that 3-year period that allows The Rotary Foundation to operate with minimal impact on the principal amounts donated.

In addition to providing support for The Rotary Foundation's humanitarian and educational efforts, as a Paul Harris Society member you will receive a certificate recognizing your commitment to The Rotary Foundation and a cloisonné Paul Harris Society "flag" to be worn in conjunction with a Paul Harris Fellowship pin.

To become a member of the Paul Harris Society, simply fill out a PHS pledge form at any time during the Rotary year:
Submitting that form makes you a Paul Harris Society member immediately. Then, make your gift to the Rotary Foundation in the current year (by June 30) to fulfill your commitment.

Of course, if the Internet isn't your favorite place, PP JD has forms you can fill out by hand and Treasurer John will be happy to accept your CI$70 per month towards your PHS contribution.

Support The Rotary Foundation and help Sunrise meet its commitment to the Annual Fund by becoming a Paul Harris Society member today!

Submitted by Communications Committee

We are counting down to our District Conference, at the magnificent Half Moon Resort, in glorious Montego Bay, Jamaica. To get the early bird fee ....register before Nov. 30th!  That's this Sunday!

A few Sunrise Rotarians have already registered but we need more! You can also register your spouse or significant other as they are arranging activities they can participate in while you attend the sessions. This is promised to be a conference you don't want to miss.

Now that all clubs have elected their President & Secretary Elects, we have discounted the registration fees until the end of November to accommodate them, and all other early registrants.

Progress in Piura Peru
Submitted by International Service

Progress is coming along nicely on the new Day Care Centre building in Piura Peru. Rotarian Nick was there to take photos to show us how much the Peru community appreciates the good works of Rotary.

The banner reads: Thank You Rotary Cayman for your sponsorship in building our Day Care Centre.
Great Job Rotarians!

Rotary Sunrise was a sponsor of the 2014 Healthcare Conference held last week at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Thank you to all those who volunteered or helped with organising the Rotary Sunrise booth!
We were able to display Rotary Sunrise items such as pins, brochures books and bookmarks. Delegates who stopped by were asked to fill out a form with their name and contact details on it, drop it in the bowl to be entered to win various raffle prizes drawn each day with the grand prize gift of a Kirk Freeport certificate raffled on the last day.
