Step Three
This step involves you recognizing the inevitable - That there is no way you want to miss this conference, and you should probably register as soon as possible to secure your cabin! It is also the stage where you realize that this is a great value-for-money Conference to attend, as prices include your room, all food, taxes and fees, and Conference Registration. Only a $200 deposit is required right now to secure your ROOM. (not per person). Several months to pay the balance! (Prices on Flyer are per person based on double occupancy. Rate sheet has more detailed pricing).
Step Four
This stage is where you think about procrastinating. This is why you probably missed Bahamas or ended up paying last minute prices! Then you remember that action is the key to success and you fill out the Registration form and email to our travel agent partner STEVE (His information is on the Flyer and Registration Form). These forms must be sent to STEVE for processing.
Rotary Sunrise Wins March Club of the Month Submitted by communications
Yee Haw! Thanks to President Christine who wrote and submitted it, our club finally won the coveted large club Club of the Month Award.
Paint Project
Rotarians and Rotaractors turned out early Saturday morning to paint the outpatient area at the Mental Health Unit at the GT Hospital. Community Service Co-Director Anthony led the volunteers to begin painting and Secretary Martha took time to feed the hungry volunteers with eggs, bacon, sausage, assorted pastries, fruit, juice, water and much needed Redbull.
Rotaractors Pierre, Joel and Darren were great helping Director Anthony tape off, cut the trim and paint the walls and Rotaractor Carla joined Secretary Martha as they dropped off the donated Garauma photos to be framed at Mr. Marshall's.
Next weekend the project will be complete with the delivery and set up of the mini kids area, an inspiring positive quote will be stuck on the door and the installation of the framed photos along with a new flat screen tv and dvd player.
Bodden Town We(e) Readers

Our Literacy Committee purchased around 2,200 leveled reading books to create the leveled libraries for our Buy-A-Kid-A-Book program which enabled all 265 year 2 students in this year’s selected school, Bodden Town Primary, to select and take home a book to read with a family member (or alone), 4 nights every week during term time. Jessica Jackson (the literacy coach at BTPS) worked very hard to put together the program and catalog all the books. The District Grant we received which was used to purchase the books and other equipment for this program has made all this possible.
At the end of the first week Ms. Jackson had this to say:
The InstaRead campaign has been an incredible success thus far and in our first 7 nights of Home Reading, we've received over 45 photo submissions. All of the photos clearly show the positive impact the books are having on the students, and even the larger families. We've had photos submitted of students reading with siblings, with parents, with grandparents and even with the entire family. I find the photos really powerful in demonstrating the positive impact of the Home Reading program as you can see the children's love of books and literature growing and growing. The photos really have been an absolute pleasure for us to see.
The smiles of the students with books in their hands say a million words.
Bench Mark
Last week our club's Community Service team delivered six benches to our community. Built by inmates from Northward for $175 each, two benches went to the chemo unit at Georgetown Hospital, two to our park and one each to the pain management clinic and Smith Cove. The plan is to purchase six more in the near future. A big thank you to Rotarian Claude for his efforts in arranging for them to be made and delivered.

If members are unable to make a regular weekly meeting or Rotary event, make-ups can be done online. The e-Club website is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You just need to spend a minimum of 30 minutes on the site and answer some questions to get the make up certificate.
Traveling: If you are going to be traveling for an extended period of time (more than two weeks), be sure to let the Secretary know and remember to submit any make-ups you do in a timely manner.
