Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman Inducts New Board!
Submitted from Communications

The Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman - RCGC - inducted President Matthew Seales and his incoming board for the 2015-2016 Rotaract Year at brunch on Sunday afternoon at Agua Restaurant.  The prosecco flowed as family, friends, Rotarians and fellow Rotaractors came out to show support as PP Stephanie reflected on her year and President Matthew made reference for the year to come.

With tears in her eyes, PP Stephanie presented her farewell speech and expressed the moment that day as 'bliss'.  With her family in attendance, she also expressed gratitude to them for always supporting her and for opening their home to the Rotaract family allowing meetings and fellowships to be held their often. She presented her board with tokens of appreciation which include local tea, personalised mugs along with other momentos.

The MC's for the afternoon was outgoing Sargeant Mikhail and incoming Sargeant Ileana. They kept the afternoon entertaining and guests were told that when Mikhail said the word 'Brunch' the response was to be 'Bubbly'. By the end of the afternoon some people were saying 'Bubbles' some 'Bubbly' but it didn't matter.

The afternoon included superlative awards which were voted on by club members. These awards were presented to:
Early Bird Award - Juillssa Castillo
Fellowship King Award - Pierre Connolly
Biggest Flirt Award - Pierre Connolly
Spirit Award - Stephanie Rattan & Matthew Seales
Overachiever Award - Juillssa Castillo
Rookie of the Year -  Brooks Berry & Joel Porter
Tardy Party Award - Ajoni Ambersley

In all the afternoon lasted about 2.5 hours and ended with a few surprises. A sneak preview video of their upcoming annual boat cruise 'We on a Boat' and homemade cupcakes made by Sargeant Ileana.  What an enjoyable afternoon to kick off what I'm sure will be an enjoyable Rotaract year!

Join President Matthew for his first meeting for the year at 7am on Thursday, July 2nd at Treats Restaurant in West Shore Plaza.

Let's End Strong with all Tickets Sold for the Car Raffle Fundraiser!
Submitted by Car Raffle Chair, PP Tony Catalanotto

As follow up to my email at least 12 members replied to remind me that there was no club meeting this coming Wednesday as a result of Changeover Night, this coming Friday.

Although, I was grateful for the reminders, I did not receive any replies from members volunteering to assist during the days leading up to Saturday's raffle including the selling of tickets at the Island Living Show this coming Friday evening and Saturday.

As it relates to the return of your ticket stubs and cash, as we do not have a meeting this Wednesday, unfortunately, what this means, is that each of you must now find a way to return same to me by this Wednesday at the latest. This is imperative as there is no way possible that I could, or should be expected to, collect the stubs and cash from +/-50 members.

To make it somewhat easier for you, ticket stubs and cash can be dropped off at either of these locations but must be done so by no later than this Wednesday to:

Rainbow Realty
13 Cardinal Ave
Attn: Tony Catalanotto

               or

Seven Mile Medical Clinic
Queen's Court Plaza
West Bay Road
Attn: Christine Mathews

Alternatively, you can drop them off to my home in Governor's Harbour any evenings by calling me first on 926-7368.

PS: Volunteers still needed for Friday and Saturday at the Island Living Show!

It's Almost Time for Rotary Sunrise Changeover Celebration!
Submitted by Communications

Its time for the Ladies and Gentlemen of the Rotary Club of Grand Cayman Sunrise to dress in their finery for the Club's Annual Changeover Celebration on Friday June 26th at 6:30pm at Pappagallo.

We will be celebrating President Kim's successful year as President, and installing the new Board of Directors. As is customary there will be several awards presented on the evening including the coveted Rookie and Rotarian of the Year Awards.

Cost is $50 per person and includes a 3 course meal with wine and welcome cocktail. Dress is semi-formal i.e. jackets  for the gentlemen and cocktail or long dresses for the ladies. Payment may be made on the evening.

There is also rumored to be dancing, so this is a changeover you don't want to miss!

If for any reason you have any questions or you are unable to attend please let me know. If you have problems registering online, send me an email and I can register you.

President Kim and I look forward to you and your guests celebrating with us!

YIR,
President-Elect Christine

The Rotary and Rotaract clubs of the Cayman Islands are all supporting this important event. This would be the second RYLA hosted in Cayman. The first was organised by Rotary Sunrise back in 2007. Rotarian Martha, Dorothy, Rotaractor Matthew and many others attended. Back then it was held at the Marriott Courtyard Hotel which is now where the new Kimpton hotel is being developed.
