The Rotary Grace

O God and giver
of all good,

We thank thee for
our daily food.

May Rotary friends
and Rotary ways,

Help us to serve thee
all our days.
The 4-Way Test

Of the things we
think, say, or do:

Is it the truth?

Is it fair to all concerned?

Will it build goodwill
and better friendships?

Will it be beneficial
to all concerned?
What's Different About This Year's Car Raffle?

What's absolutely the most exciting way to go green according to Consumer Reports magazine? Undeniably, it's the thrill of driving a brand new, electric-powered Tesla automobile. To quote the 2014 review by Edmunds.com, a well-respected automobile review site, "As one of the most desirable electric cars available today, the 2014 Tesla Model S is also one of the best luxury sedans, too." In short, the Tesla Model S is undeniably one of the hottest cars on the planet today! Road & Track magazine stated, "When you're in a supercar-fast electric car like the Tesla, the driving experience is an odd cognitive mash-up somewhere between shouting Greenpeace-approved obscenities at Toyota Priuses and dusting Corvettes from stoplights on a cruise night."

Want to get your hands on a Tesla?
Option 1: Give Rotarian John Felder at Cayman Automotive $82,000 to place your order.
Option 2: Just spend $100 to purchase a Rotary Sunrise "Going Green" raffle ticket!
Only 2500 tickets will be sold this year, one of which will provide its lucky holder with the rights to own this amazing vehicle. Savvy purchasers can pay a special discount price of $300 to get four tickets and quadruple their odds of winning!

What else is different?
Well, instead of only 2 or 3 prizes, each lucky ticket will set you its holder for an amazing array of "Going Green" themed prizes just in time for the December-January holiday season. (Wouldn't one of these tickets be a fantastic stocking stuffer??)

Okay, but what's in it for YOU as a Rotary Sunrise member?
Well, obviously you won't be expected to sell these pricey tickets in front of grocery stores. Instead, there will be a major focus on corporate sales and social media to make our numbers work. We will also approach Rotary Clubs across District 7020 for ticket sales. And a great website is being developed to build the excitement and simplify the purchase opportunities for this raffle. Also, you have fewer tickets to sell this year! Instead of 50 (as in years past) you only have to sell 36. In other words, just find 9 people who want to buy 4 tickets @ $300, and you're done. Don't know 9 people? Don't worry! The "Going Green" fundraising committee will help you sell those tickets in new and exciting ways while spreading the message of being environmentally responsible. (Details to follow...)

So get ready to make it an eco-green holiday season this year while raising much-needed funds for Rotary Sunrise's good works in 2016!

How Creative Are Our Members?
Submitted by Secretary Gina

As we continue into our second week of Membership & Extension month, members and guests will have an opportunity to do a little arts and crafts project in support of the Rotaract Club of Grand Cayman. Rotary Sunrise is the sponsoring club of RCGC
and within Membership & Extension month, we want to show our support to these young professionals in a fun way. More information will be provided at the start of the meeting so come out and see how our members and guests can support our Rotaract club.

Travelling Rotarians
Submitted by Secretary Gina

With summer holidays in full swing, we do tend to see many of our Rotarians travel off island and with their travels comes visits to other Rotary Clubs and Rotary landmarks. Recently, Rotarian Frans and Rotarian Faye shared some photos of their travels.

For Rotarian Frans who was in Canada shared a photo from Peachland, BC of a Rotary clock and traveled past a large Rotary Park on the shores of Lake Okanagan south of Kelowna, BC. This past week he sends photos from Petawawa, Ontario of another Rotary project at a Baseball field. Frans will be away until early September but wanted to share his photos with the club.

For Rotarian Faye, who is also travelling in Canada, visited a Rotary Club in Vernon, BC. At their Wednesday lunch meeting she snapped a photo as she exchanged our club banner and held their club's mascot.

We love to see our Rotarians traveling the world (or Canada for these two Rotarian) and experiencing other Rotary clubs and projects.
Safe travels to all and we will see you soon.
