Number 3 of our 10 new shelters was deployed today....
The Rotary Central Bus Shelter team was in action today installing number 3 of our 10 new shelters on the busy Eastern Avenue at Britcay House. This is an excellent shelter location to serve the community as there are many users of the bus transportation system on Eastern Avenue. In attendance were P.P. Dave and Rotarians Gilles, Mike M., Paul K., Greg V., and Todd. Many thanks to Rot. Gilles for making available his lift equipment to deploy the slab and to P.P. Altee for the use of his truck/forklift to bring the shelter to site. Rot. Gilles was proceeding at full steam at 6:45 am handling the slab all by himself. The slab was in place when the rest of us arrived at 8:00 am. It was like it spouted from the soil in the night ! P.P. Dave brought his hammer drill and portable generator and Rot. Paul K. had all the tools. The job was done by 9:30 am. See picture below of the new shelter being placed. Exciting work is being by the bus shelter team - all are welcome to join in on the fun ! The bigger the team the more we can do. Rot Greg V.
