The Rotary Club of Tortola on 23rd July 2015 handed over a check for  $1,000 to the HIV/AIDS Foundation to assist with their new initiative known as “KNOW YOUR STATUS, GET TESTED”.  The HIV/AIDS Foundation is committed to the prevention of HIV transmission through sexual health education programs and advocacy for people living with HIV to access quality health care and privacy.

The HIV/AIDS Foundation has invested about $10,000 in supplies of test kits and condoms which will give them the ability to test as many persons as possible by 1st December 2015 which is World Aids Day.  Through this initiative, the HIV/AIDS Foundation has partnered with service organizations such as the Rotary Club of Tortola and health officials to achieve their goal.  The Foundation has also targeted communities which are considered high risk.  As part of its fundraising efforts, the HIV/AIDS Foundation is also conducting a grand raffle of a Mercedes Benz.

The Rotary Club of Tortola salutes the HIV/AIDS Foundation for its efforts in the community.  For over 46 years, the Rotary Club of Tortola has touched and continues to touch many lives in the Virgin Islands and other countries through great humanitarian work.
