The Rotary Clubs of the BVI launched a writing contest for kids 7 to 11 years old in the British Virgin Islands.   It's a part of the Rotary Butterfly Storybook Writing Competition.
 
The writing competition was launched on 29th September 2015 at the First Impressions Primary School in Johnson Ghut.  The primary school children are encouraged to write and submit stories of about 350-700 words.  The winners' stories are printed in four languages, available on Amazon for purchase and throughout the world. 
 
The theme for this year is "Giving Something Special to Someoone Special. The competition is open to all primary schools in the British Virgin Islands with deadline November 13, 2015.
 
Present at the launch were Assistan Governor Delma Maduro and representatives from the Rotary Clubs in the British Virgin Islands.  In addressing the audience, Mrs. Maduro highlighted that this is the third year of the competition and last year's winner winner of the competition was Ms. Marlie Hughes of First Impressions Primary School.
