The Rotary Club of Tortola, in July, donated $1,500 to assist with a much needed surgical operation for 11 year old T’Shonda Dore who suffers from Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.

The 11 year old who was born in the British Virgin Islands suffers from pain in the back for some time now, but was only recently diagnosed with the condition.   The condition is described as an abnormal shape of the spine which grows into an elongated S or C instead of its normal straight line.  The bone of the spine is also slightly twisted or rotated from the condition.  With the Rotary Club of Tortola’s donation T’Shonda is a step closer to having a normal fun-filled childhood.
