President Percy Rhoden said that the Club is grateful to all the persons and businesses who supported the event and made it possible to raise such an impressive sum for charities in the BVI.

The beneficiaries of the 2009 Grand Affair are children with special needs, the Youth Empowerment Programme, the H.O. Creque Educational Trust, and the Rotary Cancer Fund. In addition to the named beneficiaries, funds are used towards other Rotary causes such as disaster relief and donations to persons in need.

The Grand Affair 2009 was co-chaired by Rotarians Jacquie Newton and Paloma Helm. During the club's weekly luncheon meeting on March 5, club members gave the event organizers a standing ovation for a job well done.
