At the annual district conference of Rotary Clubs in the Northern Caribbean, District 7020, BVI Assistant Governor Delma Maduro was confirmed as District Governor Elect for year 2018-2019. This year's annual district conference was held in Nassau, Bahamas from 3-7 May 2016.
 
The Rotary Clubs of the BVI were among eight Clubs in the entire district that received several platinum awards for the 2015-2016 Rotary year. The conference saw over 600 delegates gathered from ten countries which comprise Rotary District 7020.  A sizable contingent of 36 Rotarians, spouses and Rotaractors from the British Virgin Islands attended the conference.

In attendance  and addressing District 7020 was the Rotary International President, K.R. "Ravi" Ravindran and his wife Vanathy. President Ravi is  a member of the Rotary Club of Colombo, Western Province, Sri Lanka.

As customary with the annual district conference,  several district and zone awards were presented to Clubs for activities throughout the 2015-2016 year. 

All three of the Rotary Clubs of the BVI as well as the Rotary Youth Arms distinguished themselves for service to their communities throughout the year.

As reported, "All three Rotary Clubs - the Rotary Club of Tortola, the Rotary Club of Road Town and the Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town received the Platinum Club of the Month Award, which celebrates consistency month by month throughout the Rotary Year; the District Governor’s Platinum Award for Excellence; and the Rotary International Zone 34 2015-2016 Public Image Citation.

Only eight clubs of the eighty-three in the District were awarded the District Governor’s Platinum Award for Excellence and the Rotary Clubs of the BVI were all among this top eight.

In addition, the Rotary Club Builder Award was presented to President Jeanette Scatliffe-Boynes of the Rotary Club Sunrise of Road Town in recognition of the dedication and commitment demonstrated in achieving the goal of strengthening Rotary Clubs."

"The Interact Club of Cedar International School, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Road Town, received the First Place Award in the Four-Way Test Song Competition.
