Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, K. Peter Turnquest addresses the Rotary Club of West Nassau
The Rotary Club of West Nassau welcomed the Hon. Peter Turnquest, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance to its weekly luncheon meeting held at the Poop Deck at Sandyport

Mr. Turnquest, himself a Rotarian and past Assistant Governor, addressed Rotarians discussing the tough decisions Government has to make to get the country on the right track financially. Areas touched on ranged from the ease of doing business, to austerity measures that Government intends to take in order to reduce wastage in the public service.

Despite the sober tone of the message, the DPM was optimistic about prospects for The Bahamas and its economy.

The audience was riveted and opted not to leave immediately after the address, rather engaging the Minister in a Q&A that went well beyond the customary end time for the club's meetings.
The event was well attended by both Rotarians and invited guests.
