National Prescription Drug Plan

Highlighting the facts, benefits and cost of the National Prescription Drug Plan, the Director of The National Insurance Board and his team were delighted to make a special visit to Nassau Sunrise to ensure that members were properly informed. Mr. Cargill also assured the meeting that despite the hefty cost of the plan, the National Insurance fund will remain strong. After all, paramount among his primary duties is the oversight of a prudent and efficient operation of the fund. The viability of the fund is evidenced, in part, by the various income collection initiatives and long-term lease arrangements. The initial group of fund beneficiaries will include seniors, children and invalids who are victims of a number of popular chronic diseases. In subsequent phases, the Prescription Plan will be extended to the wider population.
