Highlights of the 2012-2013 Year. Events, Fundraisers, Socials, Projects

A brief synopsis of what the Club was able to accomplish this past year. Many of the projects are annual and ongoing things that we manage to pull off every year.
•Sail-away Fundraiser
•Blood Mobile Blood Drive (42 Pints)
•Owantas Pond clean-up and painting with Interact
•Bahamas Marine Mammal Research Organization Internship support
•Supported 2 Interact Clubs, both with significant achievements this year.
•Started a Rotaract Club (But it needs support to continue)
•Model United Nations support
•Speech Competition, once again a spectacular showing
•Senior Citizen Luncheon with record numbers fed
•Bell Ringing once again successful with $2,300 raised this year
•Christmas Parcels delivered as usual, but record numbers of boxes given out
•Sidewalk Chalk Art Festival to support Interact
•Created a Strategic Plan to guide the club
•Annual TC Golf Tournament Fundraiser was successful for 10th time running
•Held a social at the home of our New member for the year, Kevin Carroll
•Held a social in Cherokee, at Long Dock, thanks to the Bradleys
•Rotaract (with help from Rotarians) ran the Hot Dog booth at the Fair
•Boozla Fundraiser at the Fair
•GAFFW Triathalon manpower support resulted in a $1,000 donation from the event.
•President’s triathalon raised $1,000 for Rotary Foundation/Polio
•Thanks to PR Chair Bradley Albury for including something about the club in Abaconian in almost every issue this year. Good PR for the Club.
•Started a Facebook page for the club which has 66 ‘likes’. The golf tournament photos posting had a ‘reach’ of 346.
•We had some great programs and speakers this year thanks to Rotarian Charles - a few that come to mind, Arien Sikken Forrestry, Barrington Murphy Water, Zandric Jones Vocational Service, Mario Murphy Road Traffic, Michael Albury Constitutional Commission, Cephas Cooper.
•We received a Bronze recognition from DG for Club of The Month
•Bahamas Tuna Classic Tournament held in Schooner Bay
•Souse Out was huge success and enjoyed by everyone!
•Hosted the DG in November with great evening affair
•Award Paul Harris Recognitions to Nadine & Basil Beneby and Gentry Morris
•Donation to Foundation (APF) $1,942 ($82 Per member) compared to a goal of $2,700 :(
•Donation to PolioPlus Fund of $4,327 ($197 Per member) compared to a goal of $3,000 :)
And we look to many more accomplishments for next year under the eagerly anticipated leadership of Rotarian Desmond Bootle.
