BECOMING A ROTARIAN IS A MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE....

Invite a friend, family member, colleague to join Rotary.

Encourage Them to Be Part of Something GREAT!!!

Why wouldn’t you want them to be part of an organization that feeds the hungry, cures the sick, provides education to women and children, provides clean water and sanitation.   And now is taking on the environment.

PROGRAM: David Masci began the program by telling everyone about Rotary saying there are 1.3 million Rotarians globally, the T.O. Rotary club puts on fundraisers each year, the Chili Cook off, Street Fair, Wine Event and Economic Forecast; all of the money raised goes to help those less fortunate.  Over 160K each year to support veterans, pay for mammograms for those that can't afford one, the Conejo Free Clinic, equipment for a cancer hospital in Tijana and more.  He also said Rotarians have put in over 2.5 million hours of volunteer time to fight polio.

He then explained that each elementary and Jr. high school in the Conejo Valley was represented today.  The teachers and admin staff chose a student from each of those schools to receive the Thousand Oaks Rotary Citizenship Award.  Each school wrote why their student was nominated.  The students were described as leaders, kind, helpful, incredible human beings, compassionate, positivity, considerate, positive example, caring, respectful.... they are an AMAZING group of young people.

Three Rotarians Regina Biddings-Muro, Dorothy Sullivan and Nelson Buss took turns reading a short bio on each student as that student came forward to receive awards from the TO Rotary Club (Darin Arrasmith), The Conejo Unified School District (Dena Sellers, Shane Frank and Karen Sylvester), Supervisor Jeff Gorell's office, and the City of Thousand Oaks (Mayor Mikey Taylor),
