BECOMING A ROTARIAN IS A MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE....

Invite a friend, family member, colleague to join Rotary.

Encourage Them to Be Part of Something GREAT!!!

Why wouldn’t you want them to be part of an organization that feeds the hungry, cures the sick, provides education to women and children, provides clean water and sanitation.   And now is taking on the environment.

PROGRAM: Governor Dutra first thanked Mary Lippiat and Karen Furnari for encouraging him to run for District Governor.  He then went on to say how the YMCA was so helpful to he and his family when he was growing up and he to this day is grateful to them.  He and his wife Cindy have been married for the past 15 years.  He showed a picture of their 'family' Christmas card, and it has may Rotarians on it as well as kids and grandkids....because his Rotarian friends are like family.

Governor Dutra said many opportunities await in Rotary.  Opportunities for fun, for friendship, to connect with the community.

He encouraged Rotarians to use the My Rotary Learning Center, attend the Rotary alliance with Toastmasters, attend PRLS and Master PRLS.  Attend the District Conference in October in Ventura, the keynote speaker is Rotary Int'l General Secretary & CEO-John Hewko. There will be fun activities a Bike Ride, Beer Crawl, and more.

He talked about the great work our district does using funds provided by the Foundation including several Thousand Oaks Rotary Projects like: free dental service for underprivileged, Mentoring Youth aging out of foster care, Hospice Care in the Conejo Valley and more.

Governor Dutra said his forte is marketing and branding, so he is creating branding content for clubs in the District (videos, social media, apparel, signage). We are People of Action.... peopleofaction.org

He has also reinstated the District Newsletter, giving clubs the opportunity to advertise their events and fundraisers to the rest of the district, tell District stores, and hear about upcoming district events.

District Goals include:  Every club have a Peace Pole in their area, Every group have an Interact combined event, One Rotaract club in each group, One Group wide meeting, One group wide project, Create District sponsors.

He encouraged us to hold group socials; he also encouraged us to let people talk about their vocation.
