BECOMING A ROTARIAN IS A MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE....

Invite a friend, family member, colleague to join Rotary.

Encourage Them to Be Part of Something GREAT!!!

Why wouldn’t you want them to be part of an organization that feeds the hungry, cures the sick, provides education to women and children, provides clean water and sanitation.   And now is taking on the environment.

President Darin opened the meeting to a room filled with representatives from 54 local non-profits who serve this community every day. Darin said what an honor it was to have all of them there that day and for the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks to be able to support their efforts.  Darin explained that this is also a program that shows each member of the Thousand Oaks Rotary Club, what their hard work and efforts has realized.

David Masci then came forward for the Inspirational Moment saying that each of the organizations there were a story of compassion and action, and they all embody Rotary's motto of 'Service Above Self'.  Their results change lives positively every day and he thanked them for all they do.

After David led the room in the Pledge of Allegiance, Nelson Buss led everyone in God Bless America.

Judy St. John introduced the guests there that were not from one of the non-profits, including Michelle Nash's husband-Shannon Nash and Immediate past First-Lady-Naomi Mc Coy.

54 Non-Profits Received Support from The Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks
____________________________________________
PROGRAMMichelle Nash- this year's Allocations Committee Chair started the
program by telling everyone in the room that the funds being distributed today were the result of the hard work and efforts of the members of the Rotary Club of Thousand Oaks' Chili Cook Off, and Street Fair.  The non-profits there today were chosen based on the great work they do in the community.  She also explained that it was the money collected in Pat Mc Coy's presidential year which just ended June 30th of this year.  With that she asked Pat to say a few words.

Pat said today was all about the great work each of the non-profits in the room does every day and also was for the Thousand Oaks Rotarians to see what their hard work does.

Darin Arrasmith said we are so lucky to live in such a great community where so many wonderful organizations and people co-exist and work together.  He said Rotarians and the groups in the room put their nose to the grindstone and get problems solved.

Michelle Nash then began, with Darin's help, to pass out checks to each of the following organizations:  Each of the organizations were asked to speak about what they do, as they received their checks:
