PROGRAM:
Regina Biddings-Muro started her introduction of our guest speaker from CLU, by saying how intertwined our club has been with CLU and the community.  She pointed out that many of CLU's employees, alumni, etc. are members of the Rotary Club of TO (Herb Gooch, Somer Barwick, Leanne Neilsen-KT Conner) she asked Alumni to stand and there were several.  She also mentioned how many members of the RCTO are leaders in the community.
Dr. Nunes has been the president of CLU since June of 2024, he is a Dr. of Philosophy, has 2 Masters Degrees and two doctorate degrees.

Dr Nunes spoke about CLU's mission statement and has many words in it that speak to Rotarians, Service, Character, Educate. He also spoke about Peace Building and had a concept which he showed on the screen, saying it is concerning that there are so many people that are either hyper engaged or hyper disengaged.... and though many of us are in the middle, it's sad that 36% of the people in the United States did not vote in this year's election, and that is concerning.  He said it is important to slow down, watch, listen, learn.

He is proud that 96% of CLU students find employment within a year of graduation, he is happy that CLU has a new Angles Soccer Club that took over the Rams facility.  He loves his dog- Brooklyn because she makes his wife so happy.  He then introduced his wife-Monique who sang a moving rendition of a song she heard her great grandmother, grandmother and mother sing "Sometimes I feel like a Motherless Child".

President Pat presented the usual 'speaker gift'- a book that the speaker signs that will be donated to a title one school in the speakers' honor
