PROGRAMPres. Darin introduced- Bo Peterson from Dean Safe.
Bo said he is the 3rd generation in his family-owned business. They specialize in high quality safes for home and business use.  They are the largest retailer in the country.  they have a 30,000 sq foot warehouse in Simi Valley and sell over 5,000 safes every year.

There are different levels of safes that have various Fire and/or Burglary ratings.  It is important to know what you're getting.  If a safe has a 30-minute rating for fire, that means the interior of the safe did not reach 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  There are 60-minute, 90-minute safes as well.  For instance, the Palos Verde fire burned longer and hotter.  Some safes lasted but many did not.

He said they also sell gun safes.  since 1986 people who own guns are obligated to keep them stored in a safe.  Their gun safes are approved by the DOJ.
