President Pat Mc Coy -"Clap Your Hands" "We Are Family"
_____________________________________________________________
President Pat opened the meeting and started by congratulating Rotarian Leanne Neilsen from CLU-for receiving The Educator of The Year Award.  He also honored Hugo Roche's birthday by having everyone sing Happy Birthday!

KT Connor was then asked to lead the Pledge, followed by Fred Lindberg leading the club in America the Beautiful.

Then KT Connor's inspirational moment was to ask Rotarians to be peaceful, saying no one knows how long or what the future holds, but by forming a circle of peace and inviting others in and proceeding with open hearts, we can move positively forward with our lives.  She said Rotary and what Rotary does embodies that.

Jeff Borenstein introduced guests, Teresa Lallo, Julian Musgrave, and Jonathan Woodward (Conejo Valley Comedy Festival).

President Pat then asked Jonathan Woodward to come forward and report to the club how successful the recent Comedy Festival was.  Jonathan first thanked Rotary for sponsoring the festival and said their sponsorship helped make it a success.  They sold 807 tickets (the goal was to hopefully sell 50).  They had 5 FREE workshops and the festival made $12,000.  They will be bringing the festival back next year.

Induction Ceremony for New Member Christy Wilson.

Vicki Arndt introduced her longtime friend Christy Wilson and said she was proud to sponsor her into the club.

President Pat then performed the induction ceremony, formally welcoming her into the club. He gave her a Rotary Pin saying "wear your pin with pride".

Christy said she was honored to become a member because she always admired all of the things her friend Vicki was involved in over the years.  She said the first day she came to a meeting a couple guys were talking outside the venue and said "should we help her find her way?"....then said "Nah, she'll figure it out".  She knew at that point she liked it here. And she is looking forward to being involved and giving back.

WELCOME CHRISTY!

PROGRAM  Haider Alawami introduced our Guest Speaker- Rob Hammond

Rob said Side Show Productions make collectible models/high end prints/statues in their facilities near Amgen in Thousand Oaks.  They make only licensed high end collectibles.  They do everything in house from design, to development, even distribution, etc.  But they have the actual statues etc. made in China and said it would cost 500 times more to build them in the U.S. because of higher wages and regulations.  They work with about 100 licensers to develop authentic products.  They are concerned now what the newly imposed tarriffs are going to do to the cost of their products.

The average statue is 12" and costs approximately $100+.  You can even buy a life-size statue and that would run around $9,000.

To see their products and learn more about the company go to:
sideshow.com

Pres. Pat had him sign a book that will be donated to at title one school in our area.
