Dorothy Sullivan said how much she enjoyed the Holiday party and was happy to bring her husband so he could meet everyone. She also thanked JeremyParis for giving her a tour of the police station. One of the new member duties is to visit the workplace of a fellow Rotarian and she recommends new members should go to Jeremy's.

It is the right of fellow Rotarians to voice an opposition to a new member application if they want more information, before the Board votes. Jeff stressed that the process worked.
Mike Murphy said he has been a Rotarian for 42 years and he is proud to be in an organization that doesn't care about a members political or religious views... all Rotarians care about is the Service and he said " I love all of you" and wishes the club a great second half of the year.
Keith Wintermute was grateful to his wife Jody for bringing him to Rotary, she had to drive him because he had a minor surgical procedure this morning.
BECOMING A ROTARIAN IS A MEANINGFUL EXPERIENCE....
Invite a friend, family member, colleague to join Rotary.
Encourage Them to Be Part of Something GREAT!!!
Why wouldn’t you want them to be part of an organization that feeds the hungry, cures the sick, provides education to women and children, provides clean water and sanitation. And now is taking on the environment.
Looking for a couple Rotarians to share inpreparing the weekly bulletin. Duties include taking weekly meeting notes and/or entering the Bulletin in Club Runner. Training will be provided. If interested, please contact Susan Murata.
PROGRAM: Dominic Pinos introduced the guest speaker who was there to talk about the water projects he is doing in Africa.
Eric Witten is an engineer who has provided clean water projects in 15 countries. He talked about a project he did in 2020 right before Covid hit and closed everything down. He was in Kenya and had no hotel, there was an evening curfew, and he had no place to go. The Chief at the village where he was going to do the water project offered him a place to stay at a safari village and ordered his villagers to build Eric a house. The women in the village were the ones who made the houses. He was there for a total of 7 months and 2 months in; they finished his house.
He walked around a lot and saw that many supplies were being dropped off, and no one knew what to do with them, so he collected them all and distributed them.
He drilled a water well and built it close to homes, so the women who would have to carry the water on their backs several times a day, now only had to go a few yards to do so. It was safer for them as many would get attacked by wild animals when they went to get water before Eric drilled the well in their village.
He thanked Rotary Clubs as they are the ones that provide the funding for his water projects. Each well costs approximately $15,000 to drill. He has done one a year for the past 10 years. He is working with the villagers to ensure they know how to maintain and operate the wells and other equipment.
Since the women/girls are now not having to spend their entire day walking back and forth to get water, they have time to actually go to school. He has been responsible for getting 42 girls enrolled in school.
Pres. Darin presented a book to our speaker to sign that will be donated to a title one school in our area. Darin also asked people to help carry the gifts out to Kelly's car.
