Happy New Rotary Year!!!!
Do you know why the Rotary year starts in July?

Our conventions played a key role in determining the start date of our fiscal and administrative year.

Rotary’s first fiscal year began the day after the first convention ended, on 18 August 1910. The 1911-12 fiscal year also related to the convention, beginning with the first day of the 1911 convention on 21 August.

The first convention was in Chicago in 1910.  Rotary’s first fiscal year began the day after the convention ended.

Since the executive committee’s decision in 1913, the end of the Rotary year has remained 30 June.

Upcoming Week

Be sure to join us this week to see our exchange student, Up's presentation about his time here in Canada!

Past Weeks
Thank you to one of our club's newest members, Dana for sharing about her inspiring time at the RYLA conference at last weeks meeting!
The sun was shining for this year's installations.  With tasty hotdogs and burgers from the food truck, refreshing swims in the pool and great company a wonderful time was had by all!  What a great way to end one year and begin another!
Congratulations to the recipients of our Community Project Funds.  Because of Aurora's hard work and generosity, Away home will be able to continue to help support youth in our community and Mcqueen lake will have an amazing cultural learning center.  Our club looks forward to continuing to work with these groups!
