CLUB MINUTES:  OCTOBER 14, 2008

GUESTS:   Dick Lewis, Doug Gibson, Nandi - welcome!

Meeting was held at Tournament Capital Center - see below for full details

Next meeting is Tuesday, October 21 - TRU Activity Center - EXECUTIVE BOARD ROOM (upstairs) - join us to try out this new location and hear the updates on other options for a change of our meeting location.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

OKTOBERFEST

Randy reports a profit of more than $3000.00.  If you still have books of tickets please return to Randy asap. 

MEGAHOCKEY POOL

Sales closed at 6pm on Tuesday evening.  Mike and helpers will be entering data over the next several days. 

FOOD BANK DRIVE

Dawn has sent out the list of volunteers for this event.  Everyone to meet at Tim Horton's at the Superstore in Sahali at 8:30 for a 9am start.  Randy will bring the routes maps Saturday morning.

CLUB LOCATION CHANGE

Background: There have been many complaints made regarding 3 issues:

  • being bumped from club room to Terrace room frequently, resulting in having to move all equipment and things going missing
  • lack of variety of breakfast food & full meals not available between May - Aug
  • cost always $250 (1 - 25 people; additional $10 / person over 25)

Tuesday's meeting was held at Tournament Capital Centre.  The room we met in is available.  Discussion re: whether or not to move the club meeting.  It was decided to form a committee to investigate other options on Campus (moved by Sukh; second by Marilyn).   Options will be presented to the club at a morning meeting within the next 3 weeks.  Committee members are: Mike F; Jim B; Darren; Steve R; Reg; Karin.  Please contact any of the members with your thoughts or questions.

 

NEXT TUESDAY'S MEETING - Trial in the TRU ACTIVITY CENTRE EXECUTIVE BOARD ROOM. 

 

HOME SHOW - October 17, 18 & 19 at the Interior Savings Centre

All 5 clubs are involved in this event.  Our times for manning the Rotary booth as follows:

Friday:            9am - 1pm    SetUp - please email Randy if you would like to sign up - docjr@kamloops.net

Saturday:       2pm - 4pm    2 - 3 Aurora Rotarians to person the booth - please email Randy if you would like to sign up - docjr@kamloops.net

Sunday:         Noon - 2pm  2  Aurora Rotarians to join Downtown club - please email Randy if you would like to sign up - docjr@kamloops.net
