Welcome to our guests, Dick Lewis and Heather Gibson!  Good to have you with us today.

Today's meeting focused on our Oktoberfest fundraiser . . . who knew a meeting could be so much fun?

OKTOBERFEST UPDATE - OCTOBER 4, 2008 at COLOMBO LODGE

Today's meeting had teams of 3 competing with one another for the most ideas for baskets (to buy) and auction items (bucket or Chinese auction).  Julie's team beat out the others.  Some of the items suggested were a get-away to Leavenworth, Washington (Bavarian village), a pleasure basket (champagne, satin sheets, candle, chocolate . . . Marilyn is visiting adult shops to see what she can find), and a bird-watching basket.  Dick Lewis (DayBreak club) has offered Fly Fishing 101 and Air Golf . . . what else can you come up with?

History of Oktoberfest :  began in 1810; now held in Munich during the second half of Sept - first week of Oct (16 days); a Toast to Happiness or Good Life.  Read more about Oktoberfest in our Oktoberfest Feature!

Committee Heads: Marilyn - fundraising; Decorating - Karin (Reg / Ted); Beer - Jim; Randy - art & food.

We still need you and your ideas, your energy, your creative drive!  Contact Julie to see how you can help make this fundraiser a 'fun-raiser'!
