Continuing with our goal to introduce more of our members here's a bit about one of our directors Mike Dedels.

As many of you know Mike works for the Kamloops Forest District out of the office on Dalhousie Dr., however if given the choice to do anything he would perfect his vocal abilities as a folk singer!

In the real world though, Mike works  as Range Agrologist in the Range Section.  His role involves the administration and management of grazing tenures on CrownLand in the Kamloops District.  His favorite thing about his job is that he gets to leave theo ffice and get out into the field where he can work with the ranchers.

Mike and his lovely wife,Cheryl, were raised in Kelowna and our daughter Jenna was born there.  They moved to Kamloops in 1987 and he has been with the Forest Service since 1990, about the same time Cheryl started teaching foods at Brock Secondary.

Jenna is just getting ready to start her first year of Nursing at TRU. Our son, Craig graduated from Sahali this year and is starting at TRU this fall

When we asked Mike what he likes to do in his spare time he told us that In the winter he snowboards regularly and plays some floor hockey.  The rest of the year he likes to bike, walk and play Old boys soccer.  In addition  they like to travel a bit and see different places. (they just recently returned from a fabulous trip to Spain).

Mike was introduced to Rotary by Margie Hudson of the Downtown Club.  Fortunatley for us, he didn't join the downtown Rotary Club since our morning meeting work much better for him. The reason he joined Rotary is that it is a good opportunity to meet people in different fields and give back to the community.
