Fog Quest Contribution Approved!
Our executive approved a $5000.00 contribution to Fog Quest at their last executive meeting. Thank you to all who have worked so hard on this initiative.
Our Aurora Rotary club is investigating how we can support Fog Quest and develop and international project in Northern Chile to bring water to some very remote villages.
Fog Quest has a unique netting system which collects water from fog which is then used for drinking water as well as other uses.
The area they are currently working in are a couple of villages in Northern Chile (Chanavaya and Alto Patache). Initially our club is looking into providing funds to purchase water tanks and pipes/taps in Chanavaya and funds to purchase 2 large fog collectors for Alto Patache.
In the following year additional funds would then be required to purchase additional fog collectors for the village of Chanavaya.
Fog collectors range in price depending on the terrain and size between $1000 and $2000. Our club is providing $5000.00 to the Fog Quest initiative.
