PRESENTATIONS

STUDENT OF THE MONTH: South Sahali Elementary principal, Rob Schoen. Care deeply, share generously, help willingly, achieve proudly.

Zeru Asress - grade 7 - professional soccer player & lawyer - favorite courses social studies, art & band.  Leadership program in school - one of the 'go to' guys!

INTERACT POLAR SWIM: Danika and others from Interact looking for donations (for international projects). Roger Perry, DG will be coming to Kamloops to participate; also Rotaract members, Mike, Carly (maybe others).  Valentine's Day Gala coming up on February 20^th. 

SOUTH KAMLOOPS SECONDARY SCHOOL - Let's Stop AIDS project: 24 hour Wake for AIDS in Feb 2009; goal $30,000 to Let's Stop AIDS organization.  Makenzie and Erin asking for sponsorship up to total $4000 to put on the event - none to the Wake itself.  They will apply using our funding request process.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

COIN COUNTING CONTINUES:  Steve R wants to lighten your pockets / purses for Polio Plus.  Bring in your spare change to any meeting and Steve will count it and submit on your behalf to RI as your donation.  Mike F, Sukh, Jim H will bring in theirs to the Jan 6 meeting!

LELE : in Silver Star this past weekend.  Tubing, snowboarding, skiing - "it was really cold . . . snowing a lot!"  Didn't like the movie and no casts! 

OTHER OUTINGS FOR LELE?   Ted asks for people to step up to take Lele out to the Wildlights. Phone Ted at 250-371-4850 to take Lele out for fun!

STUDENT EXCHANGE UPDATES: Karin reports outbound students are now being assigned countries. Aurora student-outgoing: Taylor RAE

CRIMINAL RECORDS CHECK:  Required every 2 years; any new members must do this before spending time with Lele.

PROGRAMS FOR JANUARY:  TRU president Jan 6; Website Orientation Jan 13 (may be an evening meeting); Student of the Month Jan 20.

MEGA HOCKEY: Mike D meeting with others to pass on the info re: organizing this event.

CLUB SOCIAL in January:   Mike F & Mike D will organize this - Karin suggests Mt. Paul Golf Course; expect this to happen Jan 13 in an evening meeting with website orientation and Fireside.
