4th of July Schedule
7:00 am - The Hungry Duck Run offers a 5k and ½ Marathon course through the Brighton area. Proceeds from the Run fees benefit Hunger Programs in Livingston County. You should register ahead for ease of check-in, but you can also register the morning of the event.

9:30 am - The Duckling Dash allows the kids 10 and under to run for fun up Main Street in Brighton following the Sunrise Rotary Duck on his (or is it her?) 4 wheeler. No registration required and no charge, just show up at the corner of Main Street and St. Paul Street in DT Brighton beginning at 9:15 am.

10:00 am – The Brighton Independence Day Parade steps off from “Old Scranton” at the top of the hill overlooking DT Brighton and proceeds through town and to Brighton High School. The 75+ entries include Veterans, Floats, Music, Classic Cars, Trucks and Tractors, Fire Trucks, Area Businesses, Church Groups, Public Officials and Non Profits. You MUST pre-register to march in the Parade which is organized by the Brighton Area Fire Department.

11:15 Am – The Great Duck Race is a Brighton 4th of July tradition. More than 3,000 numbered rubber ducks are dumped in the Millpond and scurry toward the finish line. If yours is one of the lucky first 3 to arrive, you’ll win $2,500, $1,000 or $500 cash. Proceeds from The Great Duck Race go to fund grants and programs, both local and international of the Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club Foundation.

LSRC Member Pattie Courtney Named Rotarian of the Year for 2016-2017

Last night Livingston Sunrise Rotary Member Pattie Courtney was named Rotarian of the Year by President Jim Watters at President's Night at the Howell Nature Center.

Jim Watters explains his choice in honoring Pattie. "If I were to name just one Rotary Club activity that comes with the greatest possible responsibility it would be the Rotary Youth Exchange Program.   When a Rotary Club accepts an inbound student into their community they are responsible for the students daily well-being and providing a safe secure environment. Pattie has been our Club Youth Services Director for the last two years.

The Livingston Sunrise Rotary Club is preparing for another exciting year of July 4th celebrations in Brighton.
