To all of the Macarthur Rotary Community,
I wanted to reach out prior to Christmas to both thank you and to give you an update about the Campbelltown and Camden ED Nurse Development Program.
For those clubs that have welcomed me as your guest, thank you for your hospitality and generosity. And to those who I am yet to meet, I look forward to meeting with you soon.
Over the last 18 months, with the support of Macarthur Rotary Clubs, Kids of Macarthur Health Foundation and local benefactors, we have been able to raise over $100,000 to aid in the training and development of the outstanding nursing staff from Campbelltown and Camden Emergency Department. I have been humbled by the generosity of so many people from the Greater Macarthur Community.
I have also been able to meet with all local State and Federal MPs over that time and have their letters of support. I have met with local businesspeople and am confident of their support moving forwards.
Thus far, we have been able to put 10 nurses through the Advanced Paediatric Life Support course. Of those 10 nurses, 6 were put forward to become instructors, which is high praise from the faculty of APLS and speaks to the calibre of staff that we are supporting. The feedback we have received from all nursing candidates has been outstanding.
We have already enrolled another 8 of our nurses to attend courses next year.
I wanted to thank you again for your generosity in welcoming me into your clubs and for your generous financial support to what I passionately believe is a worthy cause and one which has already saved lives.
I would be happy to meet with your clubs again to discuss the progress that has been made thus far.
