Welcome Kate Sydik to our club. Kate Sydik is an educational psychologist. She believes that students learn best through active engagement, and always strives to create a caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which students can construct knowledge, and develop skills. She is particularly interested in the role of games in education. Over the last year Kate worked with Nebraska Game and Parks to coordinate the Trout in the Classroom program and extend program curriculum. Prior to that she served as STEM Academy leader with the CLC program at Dawes Middle School for two years, and taught educational psychology courses to pre-service teacher students at the University of Nebraska for four years. Kate holds a Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Nebraska, a MA in Textile Design from the University of Nebraska, and a BA in Environmental Studies (Natural Resources Management) from the University of Nebraska. Kate grew up in Nebraska City, but has lived in Lincoln for over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoys playing board games, quilting, painting, reading, and spending time with her family and friends.  |
