Troy Rotary has partnered with Medright, Inc. premier vocational school in Troy to provide an educational opportunity to individuals interested in starting a career as a Phlebotomist. Medright, Inc. has been a leading educational provider of medical programs for 21 years. Phlebotomy, the art of drawing blood, is a high in demand occupation. Employment opportunities include hospitals, dr. offices, clinics, laboratories, dialysis, and Red Cross just to name a few.

Students receive 10 weeks of a structured curriculum learning how to perform venipunctures. Students also become CPR certified at the Basic Life Support level through the American Heart Association. After the 10 course instruction students will perform a clinical rotation at Beaumont or St. John hospitals for work place experience.
 
 
To qualify for the scholarship interested individuals must:
 
  • Be between 25-45 years of ago,
  • Have a high school diploma or GED,
  • Be legally eligible to work in the United States.
  • Speak, read, write and comprehend English
  • Submit a 2-3 minute video sharing who you are and why you want to start a career in Healthcare
  • Submit 3 professional references
 
Classes begin November 12th, 2018 held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5pm-10pm.
 
Deadline for submission for September class is October 22nd, 2018.
