What is Virtual Currency? What is Cyber Crime? Am I a target? Jason will provide an overview of virtual currencies and the technology behind them. Jason will also discuss how cybercrime can impact anyone and what to do if you fall victim to a perpetrator on the internet.

Jason Failing has been a Special Agent with the IRS Criminal Investigation since March 2010.  Since September 2015, he has been assigned to the Washington, D.C. Cyber Crimes Unit and currently works from Detroit, MI. The IRS Criminal Investigation Cyber Crimes Unit investigates potential tax and related financial crimes perpetrated via the internet.  Most investigations involve the dark web and virtual currency.  Jason holds a Global Information Assurance Certification of Information Security Fundamentals and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Management from Hope College in Holland, Michigan.
