September News!
On September 15th, Stan Neron, founder of NJ for Haiti, spoke to the Rotary club. Neron is also the Director of The City of Elizabeth’s Department of Recreation and is an elected Commissioner for the Elizabeth Board of Education. He brought us up to date on the disaster relief efforts in Haiti as well as the City of Elizabeth’s damage from Hurricane Ida.
 
In response to Hurricane Ida, our club members donated toiletries for the City of Elizabeth’s flood relief project. 
 
On September 29th, Dr. Lamont Repollet, President of Kean University, spoke to the club. Dr. Repollet was joined by Kean administrators Dr. Sancha Gray, Kellie LeDet and Sonia Irizarry who talked about the future of the University. We were joined by the Presidents and members of the Union, Linden, Kenilworth and Roselle-Roselle Park Rotary Clubs and we were honored to be joined by District 7475 Governor Shelby Rhodes.
 
October News!
 
On October 13th, the Rotary Club welcomed Captain Walter Droz, Commanding Officer of the Elizabeth Salvation Army, and his associate Ronald Waiksnoris. With Christmas around the corner Captain Droz hopes that our Club will again participate in their annual Angel Tree Program which provides toys and clothing for children in need.
