Thanks to the generosity of our Club members, their families and friends, 27 local youngsters received packages of toys and clothing supporting the Elizabeth Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program. Special thanks to Bill “St. Nick” Mealia who coordinated the project with Captain Walter Droz and the Salvation Army staff.

On December 14th, Rotarian Phyllis Reich was honored with the Miriam S. Karch award by Jewish Family Service of Central Jersey for her contributions to the agency. She received the Miriam S. Karch award. She has also helped the JFS grow its marketing and social media presence as well as connect the JFS with other community resources and organizations. Congratulations, Phyllis!

This month, the Elizabeth High School Interact Club celebrated its 25th anniversary.  Special thanks to Kelly McCraken- Villanueva who has been the Interact Club’s faculty advisor since day one. Our Interactors are an integral part of our Rotary Club, assisting at our fundraisers, participating at our District Beach Sweeps as well as being key volunteers at Community events as such as the Tour de Elizabeth and The Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless Basketball Classic. Their most recent events have been volunteering at the Elizabeth Avenue Partnership and 3rd Ward Tree Lighting ceremonies.
Thank you Kelly and all the students who have provided “Service above Self” for the past quarter century!!

Treasurer Bill Mealia presented the Club’s donation to Community Access Unlimited to Director Saranya Thana. This donation supported CAU’s virtual presentation of Elf the Musical 2. Bill also presented a token of our Club’s appreciation to Corinna Singh for taking such good care of us at our meetings at the Garden Restaurant.
