If you like Coney islands like John G does, the Fino's Family Dining was the place to be last week.
So week 6 took us to Fino's Family Dining, a restaurant to which we had not previously visited in our Rotary Eatings.  Gale & I were joined by John G who is going to New York next week, Margaret who has traveled to Seattle this spring.  From there she went on an Alaskan Cruise, and last week celebrated her birthday by going to Shakespeare Fest in Stratford, Ontario.  Tom was in a hurry because he was heading to a lecture in Birmingham on the history of Dixie Highway. Bob was just enjoying his coffee.   I want to be retired!

The food at Fino's was very good, and very large!  I saw homemade chicken soup, greek salad, turkey melt, coneys, fries, gyro, chile and a turkey pita.  I had breakfast, two eggs over easy, bacon, and pancakes (think Grand Slam).  And no, there were no leftovers for me to take home.

We had a Rob Boyle sighting, he joined us for lunch.  All seems to be well in Rob's world.   Rob was telling us about sitting back of the dugout at Comerica Park and a screaming line drive was hit their way, and he tried to catch it bare handed.  This lead to a discussion of how they are extending the netting to protect the fans from line drives (and themselves Rob).  Somehow the discussion wound up at M1 Concourse's Roadkill which was last weekend.  In all of this, I totally forgot to show Margaret and Rob pictures of my new dog.

This Thursday's eating will be at El Patron 1188 Joslyn Ave, Pontiac, MI 48340 .  Beware, there is a detour for Joslyn through a neighborhood.    You can turn left onto E Kennett Street from Perry (if you are northbound) , and take that to Barkell street and turn right or north.  Follow Barkell north to Columbia and turn left or west.  The restaurant is at the corner of Columbia and Joslyn.  Otherwise, take Baldwin north to Columbia, turn right or east and take Columbia to Joslyn.  I have not tested these alternatives.  If no parking at the restaurant, park on the neighborhood streets.  Look for Gale's smiling eyes and be sure to visit the salsa bar.

Dr Leigh, you cannot complain about the commute to lunch.
