This week our speaker was Garland Doyle, City Clerk of Pontiac.  Garland was asked several questions about his job, marijuana, parking lots, and parks.  We learned that his position is appointed by the city council and that the mayor is not his boss.  Garland’s responsibility of the city clerk is being the “record keeper”, he does the agenda for the city council meetings along with taking the minutes, which can be found on the Pontiac City Council website.
He spoke a little on the application process for marijuana licenses and some of the zoning issues.  So many questions, so little time.
