PROGRAM:
President Adrienne Knack and President-elect Terry Gill gave updates on the progress for Dash or Crash, which is the club’s Number One fund-raiser. The goal this year is to attract more runners. Some of the major changes this year are: Changing the date to May 20; condensing the day (shortening the time between the first and last wave); eliminate the parking fee; reduce the cost for runners; and adding obstacles.
Various committees then met for the rest of the meeting, producing a lot of energy and a number of new ideas. Just some were: an after-event sponsored dance party; “tours” of the course for non-runners; more activity at the start/finish line; reaching out to various teams (e.g. firefighters) to compete in heats; and many more. Should be a great event in 2017.
