Bill Anderson presented guest Lauren Wagner Dev. Manager of the March of Dimes.   March of Dimes has been in existence for 80 years, founded by FDR to eradicate polio.  1985 the focus switched to premature birth.  Two primary goals are to decrease premature birth rate and raise awareness.  US has a high rate of maternal deaths before 37 weeks.  1 in 10 babies are premature in the US, 1 in 6 babies are premature in Detroit.
 
March of dimes is working on the following:
1.  One Key Question
2.  Detroit and National offering a Facebook mentor program
3.  Mission investment opportunities
4 . Continuing Education Courses for Health Care Professionals
5.  Strategic Mission Plan
6.  Educating women on birth spacing
 
Brighton Rotary has helped raise $20K for  March of Dimes since 2009.
