Greg Grey is celebrating 3 years with Brighton Rotary.

George Moses is riding in the Tour de Livingston a fundraiser put on by the Howell Rotary. He is looking for sponsors, last year he raised $1800.00.

This Saturday 10/6 the Brighton Interact is hosting their fundraiser practice ACT exam. It is from 9am-1pm in the high school cafeteria. They need volunteers, if you can help please call Bill Gartley.

The Annual Rotary Golf Challenge between area clubs was held last Wednesday and the Brighton Club won by 16 shots. Jim Gilmore presented the Trophy to Don Homan.

Jim Gilmore announced a new Rotary club, Ann Arbor West , will have it’s charter meeting with in the next month.

Brian Bradford is looking for fellow Rotarians to meet and discuss ways to raise monies for the Veterans Memorial. Tuesday 10/9  6pm  Brighton Bar and Grill.

Rotary Moment:

Brian Donovan spoke about volunteering to work on a raider’s project. Being a building contractor this was a comfortable fit for him. He soon saw many of us volunteer to learn something new as we “helped”. He now volunteers to learn as he helps.

Program:

Bill Gartley introduced Kevin Wilkinson who spoke about our county EMS. He thanked the voters for the new 20 year millage. Livingston County EMS covers 585,000 square miles and will go out on between 18,000-19,000 requests this year.  In 2013 they will add 4 staff and a new ambulance. The new building at 1911 Tully Road will be completed next year and will include hangar space. This will be the first public safety building in the state with all accroutments.
