PROGRAM:
President Adrienne Knack and President-elect Terry Gill led a discussion about Dash or Crash, which raised 31,000 this summer. Although the day was a success, better communication and more club involvement could increase runner participation and raise even more money for the club. Adrienne passed around a committee list to show the many opportunities for club involvement.
Mt. Brighton is enthused to again host the event, but is asking that the date be moved outside the summer months to lessen the financial impact of losing a day of weekend golf. May 20 is the tentative day for 2017 and that should be confirmed as early as this week after a meeting with Mt. Brighton.
As co-chairs, Adrienne and Terry are committed to the event both this year and in 2018. They want to encourage better communication within the club, and more committee involvement to increase runner participation. Other than finalizing the date, other decisions need to be made on new obstacles, pricing and ways to attract competitive groups, such as high school sport teams.
This event is the prime fund-raiser for Brighton Rotary and has the potential to be an even greater community event with larger participation.
50-50
It’s a new pot and it’s only going to get bigger as Ron Cleveland, Anna Evers and Cathy Riesterer all failed to find the Ace of Spades.
