PROGRAM:
A mix-up prevented the scheduled program from appearing, but guest Matt Brady stepped in. A one-time Howell resident and Howell Rotarian, Matt now lives in Colorado but was in town for the memorial services for Duane Zemper, a well-known veteran and photographer. Matt’s roots in the county and with Rotary run deep. He can recall playing hockey on the Mill Pond in Brighton. His grandfather started Citizens Insurance and was twice elected as the county’s prosecutor. Matt’s dad was a Paul Harris fellow and was a district governor. Matt has also been involved in civic activities in the Denver area, participating in a housing coalition and winning a civil rights award, which is wryly noted was quite a feat for a white boy from Howell. He was also named to the Denver 150 list.
50-50. The pot will grow to more than a thousand bucks next week as the Ace of Spades again proved elusive to winning ticket holders Suzy Lewis, Jennie McDonald and Mike McManus.
