We currently have 70 members in the Club, and we will be celebrating our 75th year in existence this year, so the hope is to expand to at least 75 members….

A visioning session was held on 6/14/11.  21 of 70 members attended, with an average tenure of 13.5 years in Rotary.  The purpose of the session was to decide where we want the Club to be in five years, and attendees were asked to write a letter to the Rotary International President about why our Club should receive the 2016 “Best of the Best” Award.  Key ideas were to be recognized as

·         the Can-do/Go-to Organization in Livingston County;

·         That we are a Club of Paul Harris Fellows, and

·         To Create a Lecture Series for the community.

Attributes of our Club include:  Committed to the Community, Integration of New Members, and a Focus on Member Skills and Talents.

Within various Avenues of Service,  goals included:

Club Service:  More “Red” Nights; Mix-up seating at Club meetings to get to know others better; Develop member retention plan and exit interviews.

Community Service:  Thanksgiving in March; Rotary Raiders complete one project/month; Better use of the Community Building

Foundation:  Five more Paul Harris Fellows/year; Apply for Rotary District & International grants; All Club members are Paul Harris Fellows

Fundraising:  Concert Series; Progressive Public 50/50; Member donations of $1,000

International:  Support and host exchange students (inbound & outbound); International meeting via SKYPE; Find a “sister club” in another country

New Generations/Youth Service:  Youth exchanges;  Booy Scout Troop Jamboree; $6,000 for need-based scholarships

Next Steps are to create a vision statement, set a Club forum to discuss, and create committees to address action items.

Progressive 50/50 Drawing:  $540  pot with 37 card remaining.. Melanie Moses drew an Eight of diamonds, Beth Walker drew a Four of spades, and Brian Wutz drew a Nine of hearts.
